The ATIC Research Group was founded in 2007 by a group of researchers from the University of Malaga with a solid background in signal processing, digital communications, image processing and electronics. Its objective is to apply and promote research in the field of signal processing applied specifically in the context of audio and music.
Since then, the ATIC research group has carried out a multitude of research projects. These include national research projects, work for private companies, collaborative projects with different industrial and research partners, and other activities. We invite you to learn about our activities and the results obtained by browsing our website.
Currently, the main lines of research are the following:
Audio Analysis: Signal processing applied to the audio context.
Analysis of musical signals: extraction, characterization and classification of characteristics.
Music transcription: detection of frequency, tonality, etc.
Automatic musical composition: generation of melodies, harmonic progressions, etc.
E-Learning: signal processing for learning and music education.
Serious Games: signal processing for the development of educational games.
Brain activity and music: analysis of brain signals during the development of musical tasks.
